Andrew Acevedo

A native of Bogotá Colombia, Andrew is in his fifth year at The Heights.  He earned his B.S. in Physical Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1979.  He served at sea as a weapons and operations specialist on ships of the U.S. Naval Fleet, and served at the Bureau of Naval Personnel as a special assistant for officer promotions.  His final tour of duty was as the Chief, U.S. Naval Mission to Colombia, where he coordinated all types of naval matters of interest to both countries.   After three years on duty in Colombia, Mr. Acevedo retired from the U.S. Navy and relocated to the Washington, D.C. area.  Mr. Acevedo teaches all levels of The Heights Spanish curriculum in both the Middle and Upper Schools.
