The Heights score 81 points, 45 more points than last year. We brought 2 relay teams for the first time in school history, in the 200-medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
The 200 medley relay team of Patrick Mukri, Steven Mercer, Conor Evans, and Miguel Lulli was ranked 14th over all after preliminaries, qualifying for the consolation finals. In the finals, the medley team broke seed, finishing 13th and breaking a Heights record with a time of 1:43.82, shaving over a second off their previous best.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Patrick Mukri, Steven Mercer, Conor Evans, and Tim Vaughan was also ranked 14th over all after preliminaries, qualifying for the consolation finals. In the finals, the medley team broke seed for the second time; finishing 13th and also broke the previous Heights record with a time of 3:24.57, knocking off over 2 seconds the prior record!
Steven Mercer competed in the 200 IM and the 100 Breast. In the 100 breast he recorded a personal best and set the Heights school record with a time of 1:03.55.
Conor Evans, competing even after sickness, made finals for both of his individual events in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. In the consolation finals for 200 free Conor broke seed to win the heat and finish 11th overall with a time of 1:46.24 and continues to hold the school record from '07 metros with a time of 1:45.30. In the 200 free he finished 8th overall setting the new Heights record with a time of 52.88 in preliminaries.
Patrick Mukri competed in both the 100 back and 500 free, qualifying for the finals in both. In the consolation finals for the 100 back, Patrick broke seed from a 3 way tie for 17th to finish 16th overall, setting the new Heights record with a time of 55.78. After being seeded 10th in the A finals for the 500 free, Patrick broke seed and shaved over 7 seconds off his preliminary time to achieve the best Metros finish in Heights history with 5th place, setting the new Heights record with a 4:42.76.
Overall the boys rose to the occasion and accomplished the highest finish in Heights history at the Washington metropolitan interscholastic swimming and diving championships.

Patrick Mukri medaled in the 500 free, finishing 5th overall– 4:49.05
And also medaled in the 100 back, finishing 14th overall– 56.95
Conor Evans medaled in the 100 fly, finishing 4th overall- 53.49
And also medaled in the 200 free, finishing 6th overall- 1:46.35
Both Conor and Patrick’s finishes were highest catholic nationals finishes in Heights history.
