The Heights beat Landon's 5th grade team 3-2, thanks to 2 goals from Dan Smith. In the second game, James Escobar sped past the defenders to score on a breakaway as a tired Heights team lost 4-1. Goalkeeper Gus Capace stopped several shots from close range.
The Heights beat St. Andrews 2-0 behind goalkeeper Gus Capace and goals from Sean Corry and Dan Smith. James Escobar provided the assist on Dan's goal with a great cross.
After quickly falling down 2 goals, the Heights responded with 5 unanswered goals to beat Georgetown Day. Sean Corry started the scoring with a goal on a penalty kick. After taking a pass from James Escobar, Sean used some nifty footwork to net another goal. Stopper Andres Melendez gave the Heights the lead with a long distance shot that cleared the goalie's outstretched hands. Sean Corry fed Dan Smith with a great through ball and Smith beat the keeper to give the Heights a 4-2 halftime lead. Goalkeeper Dimitri Lappas and fullbacks Kyle Stuart, Leo Zhukov and Paul McGiffin shut out GDS in the second half, while Dan Smith added an insurance goal.
