Thanks again for all of your support and interest in The Heights School Athletics. Go Cavs!! Class of 2007: Chris Kaufman, Soccer, Virginia Tech
Decided on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 to accept a partial soccer scholarship to Virginia Tech for the 2008-09 school year. Chris follows in a long line of Heights Cavaliers to lace up their "boots" and play soccer in college, started by our curent Headmaster Alvaro DeVicente '83. Way to go Chris, keep up the great work, we are all very proud of you here in the CAVALIER NATION!!

Patrick Selwood, Freshman--Bucknell, Soccer Pat has completed his first season at Bucknell, where he played in every game this season and started in more than 70% of the Fighting Bison games this season. Even more impressively, Pat helped Bucknell to it's first ever NCAA Division I National Tournament Bid, where they went on to win their first round game over George Mason University. Bucknell ended their historic season with a hard fought loss at The University of Virginia, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Chris Berset, Freshman--University of Michigan, Baseball

Class of 2005: Richard Adams, Sophomore, Hampden-Sydney--Golf Richard "Cubby" Adams ’05, plays for the http://www2.hsc.edu/athletics/golf/
David Mitchell, Sophomore-Loyola, Md, Lacrosse David took a "leave of absence" from his Attack position on the Lacrosse field during 2005-06 season in order to bolster his already stellar academic portfolio. However, he did "tear -up" the basketball league and "wreaked havoc" on the lacrosse intramural league's for the 05-06 Greyhounds. Rumor has it that David has a strong "itch" to play lacrosse once again, so don't be surprised to see him on the 2007 Greyhound lacrosse roster. Only time will tell....
Class of 2004: Mike Hess, Junior--Wagner, Lacrosse Mike is ready to begin his third season of face-off's and tenacious mid-field play for Wagner College of Long Island, NY. Mike led the Cavaliers to back-to-back MILL Championships in 2003 and 2004- a feat that the team has yet been able to repeat. Moreover, Mike is still renowned as one of the best face-off men to ever step on to Alumni field for the cavaliers. Tim Murray, Junior--Muhlenburg College, Basketball Tim is in the middle of his third campaign for Muhlenburg College as a firm and steady small forward. "Big Red" as he was affectionally known during his time on the Cavalier campus, has improved tremendously during his first two seasons at Muhlenberg, and is ready for his bust out seaon this year 06-07. Stay tuned for his progress and season statistics..... Dexter Sellier, Junior--Duquesne University, Football Dexter is the first Cavalier to ever play college football as he "walked-on" to the football team at Duquesne as a Tight End for the Fall 2006 season. He is expected to see considerable playing time during the 2007 season as long as his jealous older brother, Joel, does not take out his knees during the infamous Sellier family "backyard brawls." Dexter and Joel can often be found in the Redskins parking lot at FED EX field where they roam the lot looking for unsuspecting fans (other Heights teachers) to blind-side and cheap-shot!! Class of 2003: Walter Booth, Senior--North Carolina A&T, Basketball Walter is competing in his fourth season at NC A&T in the very competitive and exciting MEAC basketball conference. Walter and his teammates will be playing at Howard University on 2/5/07 at 7:00pm, if you would like to cheer him on live! Walter has been an extremely hard worker for his team and spends endless hours at The Heights in the summer improving his already smooth 3 pt shot. Walter and his teammates are aiming for a MEAC tilte in late February 2007. Stay tuned for more highlights and statistics for Walter's Senior campaign!!
Class of 2002: Jason Forte, Graduated--Brown University, Basketball What more is there to say/write about the great Jason Forte! He is widely accepted as the best basketball player and chess player to ever walk the campus in Potomac, Md. He was the IVY league basketball player of the year during his Junior campaign, and an NBA prospect during his fabulous senior season at Brown. He is one of a kind and we are very proud to be able to call him a Heights-Man!! Theo Gremminger, Graduated--University of Maryland, basketball Theo is currently in his first season as an assistant coach at Catholic University in Washington, DC. He previously coached for two seasons at St. Albans as the JV basketball Head Coach. Truly the sky is the limit for young Coach T. He is a great basketball mind and will go as far as he wants to in the art of coaching basketball. We are proud to have him as a Cavalier Alumnus, and wait to fill these pages with his future credits... David Stoughton, Graduated college-4 years of college Baseball Has anyone seen Big Dave? It was rumored that he went into professional wrestling with Coach Theo as his partner, but we are still looking for some sort of tangible proof on that. Dave was the "Randy Johnson" of The Heights, a 6'6 terror on the mound and in the lane in basketball. What more can you say.....Dave was a rare and treasured talent at The Heights.
Class of 2001:
Class of 2000:
Class of 1999: Colin Gleason, Graduated--Washington & Lee College, Basketball. Colin is still the only player from the Heights to be named "Washington Post Player of the Week". This occurred when he scored 19 points in the second half against the second ranked team in the nation Newport Prep Tigers of Kensington, Md. The Heights went on to beat Newport and to clinch a tie of the league title thanks in large part to Colin's 3 point bomb show that momentous February evening in 1999!!
Damien Jones, Albright College--Basketball Damien will forever be known for beating the Irish national 16-under team by scoring the final ten points of the game in Dublin, Ireland. Even more incredible, The Heights has fouled out 6 players and was left with only 4 to play with when Damien when on his infamous scoring streak!! Damien has had difficulty entering the country of Ireland whenever he has tried to return since that infamous day. Go Cavs!!
Phil Stewart, Graduated--4 years of college basketball
Class of 1998: Kiril Apostolov, Graduated--Dickinson College, soccer & basketball Kiril was a man amoung boys during his time at The Heights. He still holds the recod for points in a JV basketball game--50, as a Freshman!! He went on to STAR for the Cavs in both soccer and basketball throughout his high school career. He played both in college at Dickinson and can still be found shooting jumpers and running his mouth around The Heights during summer evening pick-up games. What a great one!!
Scott Gearhart, Graduated--Lafayette, basketball Scott walked on and played Varsity basketball for 4 years at Lafayette college in Pennslyvania. He suffered a debilitating ACL tear and surgery at the beginning of his Soph season. However, in true Cavalier form" he did not let that keep him away from attaining his dreams. He returned in 1991 to help the Grayhounds to a 14-12 winning season as a junior, during which the team beat nationally ranked Xavier, Princeton and Richmond. However they fell short of their overall goal of an NCAA Tournament birth, that would have to wait until 1994, during which the Greyhounds lost to an eventual final four bound Arizona Wildcats(Damon Stoudamire & Kalid Reeves--both NBA guards). Brian was the first Heights Cavalier to earn a full Division I basketball scholarship and to be named Captain of the 1993 Greyhound basketball team. He is currently working as the Athletic Director for The Heights, and constantly working on his "Game!" Class of 1988 Class of 1987 Larry Grayson, Graduated--Catholic University, Baseball Larry is still the only Heights player to pitch a "perfect" game! He accomplished the feat vs St. Anselm's during the 1986 Spring season. He had a solid 4 year career as a starting pitcher for Catholic University. Class of 1986 Alec Hanus, Graduated--Richmond, Basketball Class of 1985 Class of 1984 Class of 1983 Alvaro DeVicente, Graduated--Georgetown, Soccer Big Al, the current Headmaster of The Heights, is the first athlete on record to play a college sport, soccer, from the fledgling Cavaliers way back in good old 1983.
